Description

Attic red-figure spiral krater with base, from the painter of Meleager. The shape mimics the apouliki version. The vase had been exported to South Italy. A symposium on the neck and at the base a hunting scene with satyrs and menades (at the other side Dionysus is depicted on the neck and the base of the vase). Early 4th century B.C., Museum Malibu.
